I am very excited to announce that it is that time of year for the National Book Festival on the Mall!! The 2007 National Book Festival, organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress and hosted by First Lady Laura Bush will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between 7th and 14th streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival is free and open to the public. This is such a fun event. If you get there at certain times, there are free books and other swag to take home with you. I am a huge childrens book collector and LOVE this event. I always take the time to research one author and try to be there when he or she is signing books. You can visit the National Book Festival for more info about all the authors who will be there and the times they will be signing books.
